Nick Dumas is an award winning bluegrass fiddler who with band mates from the former Three Generations Bluegrass Band, formed Northern Departure in 2008.  Frank and Karen first met Nick’s family at the 2006 Darrington, Washington festival when Nick tried out Frank’s #132 fiddle, an instrument with a beautiful Myrtle wood back.  Before the weekend was over, Nick’s Grandma Dumas purchased the instrument for him.  When we saw Mrs. Dumas at Wintergrass 2007, she told Frank "this fiddle is the best investment I ever made".
