| Instrument #184, a Guarneri model 4-string, was completed in February 2011. The top wood is Engelmann Spruce that Frank harvested north of Brundage Mountain in 1999. The back, sides and neck are made from Sycamore wood from a friend’s lawn in Northwest Boise. Frank is very pleased with the tone and projection that the combination of Spruce and Sycamore produces. This is the third instrument Frank has made using the Boise Sycamore and all three instruments have sold quickly. This instrument was sold to Caroline Blessing at the bluegrass festival in Lake Havasu City in March. Caroline began playing at age seven and has studied classical, old time and bluegrass music.
