#167 is a 4-string Guarneri model completed in February 2009.  The one-piece back, sides and neck on this instrument are quilted maple Frank purchased from a young man at the Darrington, WA Bluegrass Festival.  The top wood is Engelmann spruce that came from central Idaho north of Brundage Mountain.  This fiddle has a very pleasing tone and is well balanced on all four strings.  This rich, red-brown colored instrument made its debut at the Lake Havasu City, AZ festival and it was amazing to listen to it blossom after several days of playing.  It exhibits a very pleasing, clear and even tone.
