| Instrument #146, a Guarneri model 4-string, was custom made for Aimee Anderson, fiddler for the Anderson Family Bluegrass Band in Grass Valley, CA. Englemann Spruce harvested by Frank near McCall, Idaho was used for the top, and the beautifully figured back, ribs and neck are made from Myrtlewood Frank purchased in Ophir, Oregon. The instrument is a rich red-brown, is even in tone and projects very well.
Aimee picked out the wood for her fiddle in October 2006. Frank presented the instrument to her at the 2007 Plymouth, CA Bluegrass Festival after she had patiently waited almost a year for Frank to complete the fiddle. What a thrill it was to hear Aimee play the instrument on stage with the Kids on Bluegrass and during jam sessions at the festival. |
