| #142 is a 5-string fiddle. The top wood on this fiddle is Idaho Englemann spruce that came from Idaho north of Brundage Mountain in central Idaho. The back, sides and neck are made from Myrtlewood that came from the Oregon coast. This fiddle is set up with Prim steel strings on the A, E, D, G and a Helicore Viola C string. The color of this fiddle is a deep red brown. The fiddle was made from a Maggini pattern, including Maggini "F" holes and double purfling. It has good volume and very good tonal qualities. This instrument was completed in March 2007. |
